Summary

Models of plant development have been built over a variety of data structures, many of which represent an idealised view of plant structure and geometry, e.g. rectangular cells. We believe models become more informative if they are applied to and visualised in the context of real plant geometries, extracted from images of exemplar plants. This talk will present methods developed for the recovery of 3D geometrical descriptions of plant roots and shoots at a variety of scales, and discuss their use in plant modelling
